Specialty Interventions

Functional Behavioral Assessment (FBA)
A FBA looks beyond the behavior itself. The focus when conducting a FBA is identifying significant, client specific social, affective, cognitive and/or environmental factors associated with the occurrence (and non-occurrence) of specific behaviors.

• Effective in determining appropriate interventions

• Information for the assessment is collected in multiple environments (home, school and community)

• Staff completing FBA’s are highly trained and are supervised by a BCBA who provides ongoing training consultation and supervision

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)
EMDR is a scientifically validated and integrative psychotherapy approach based on the theory that much of psychopathology is due to traumatic experience or disturbing life events.

• Best practice therapeutic intervention proven effective for the treatment of trauma.

• Results in the alleviation of presenting symptoms, diminution of distress from the memory, improved view of the self, relief from bodily disturbance, and resolution of present and future anticipated triggers

Dialectic Behavioral Therapy (DBT) Skills Group
DBT is an approach used to assist individuals who tend to have more intense and out of the ordinary reactions to certain emotional situations. The DBT approach is used to help individuals maximize strengths and develop more effective skills to identify and express their emotions, manage stress, and create more successful interpersonal relationships.

• Curriculum focuses on 4 skills modules comprised of core mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotional regulation and interpersonal effectiveness.

• Skills group is co-ed and accepts ages 13-17.

• Services provided in a group setting every Wednesday for 16 weeks.
